Unexpected error while browsing to sharepoint site after restoring site collection

Sh...arepoint happens sometimes.

After stsadm.exe -o restore -url http://somehost/somesite when you try navigate to http://somehost/somesite you are getting
the wonderful verbose sharepoint error: Unexpected error
There are lots of possibility what is wrong..
First of all I would recommend you look at the LOG files: C:\Program Files\Common Files\microsoft shared\Web Server Extensions\12\LOGS

Today I discovered that I have gotten this error because the required templates for restored site weren't deployed on the farm.
